5 - Funchal, main gateway for Madeira region, is famous due to its spectacular runway construction and the strong surrounding winds. Additional crew training is required.











4 - London City, located 7 miles east of London, has a very steep final approach glide path (5.5 degrees) leading to the 1,508 m runway. Special aircraft and crew certification are required.









3 - Santos Dumont, its 1,323 m long main runway, surrounded by water and high elevation terrain, is one of the busiest airports in Brazil, receiving A320s and B737s under regular operation. RNP-AR 0.1 approach procedures help to maintain the regularity of the flights. Special crew training is required.







2 - Paro, the airport located in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu, at 7,364 ft of elevation with surrounding peaks as high as 18.000 ft, has RNP-AR approach procedures to its 2,265 m runway. Crew special qualification is required.








1 - Lukla, the start point for treks towards Mount Everest Base Camp on Nepal, the 527 m long runway has an elevation of 9,337 ft and operates opposite directions for takeoff and landings (06 for landing, 24 for takeoff) due to high surrounding terrain.
